They'll say "Samsung LEDs" but use cheap generic 2835 chips rated for 12-18 months. Specify your environment. Coastal salt air? Pay 20-30% more for 316 stainless instead of 304. Harsh winters? Ask for IP66 sealing instead of IP65. A sign for a strip mall in Ohio doesn't need marine grade; a sign for Miami Beach absolutely does.
Ask for production photos and a video of the aging test.
