The Real Numbers You Won't Find on a Brochure

Here's what nobody tells you: the price per letter you see advertised is rarely what you pay. It's a starting bid before size, depth, LED quality, and finish get added in.

Our factory prices run $20-80 per front-lit channel letter. Back-lit halo letters run $35-120. Stainless steel non-lit letters are $15-40. Those aren't guesses. They're what we quote after 16 years of burning my hands on hot acrylic and arguing with LED suppliers in Lu'an, Anhui.

US retail installed costs run $200-700 per front-lit letter and $400-1,000 for halo. Factory direct saves you 50-65% on product. Shipping and tariff eat into that, but the math still works.

We ship a standard front-lit channel letter for $120. That same letter installed in Ohio goes for $650. The middleman takes the rest.

For non-lit dimensional work, stainless steel letters run $15-40 per piece. Aluminum letters are $10-25. 3D fabricated letters are $40-120. Light boxes are $80-250 per square meter. Neon flex runs $30-200 per sign.

If you want premium architectural, budget for a back-lit halo letter. That's $35-120 per letter because you're paying for the return, the diffuser, and the sealant to keep water out.

Minimum Order: One Piece Is Real, But Think Bigger

Look, I've heard importers tell me their last supplier demanded 50 units or a $2,000 setup fee. That's not a factory policy. That's a broker marking up risk.

Our MOQ is one piece. One channel letter, one halo letter, one stainless letter. We'll run it through the shop and pack it like it's going to war.

But one piece by air freight is stupid expensive for what you get. You'll pay $30-100 for shipping a single letter. Two letters? Same box, same paperwork, same headache.

The ugly truth is that the real minimum order isn't one piece. It's one project worth your time. If you're buying for a business, order all the letters for one sign. That's how the numbers work.

We produce 50+ workers' worth of output in a 3,000m² facility. A single letter takes the same 10-step process as 20 letters. The setup time is the same. So one piece is possible. But 10 pieces might cost only 8 times more, not 10.

That's the conversation nobody has about MOQ. It's not about minimum. It's about your freight and our downtime.

What Actually Moves the Price Per Letter

Not every channel letter is the same animal. A 12-inch front-lit letter with a 2-inch return and domestic acrylic will cost $20. A 36-inch halo letter with polished 304 stainless returns, CNC-routed acrylic, and Samsung LEDs will push $120.

Size drives material. Depth drives LED count. Finish drives labor. And LEDs drive lifespan.

Here's what nobody tells you: cheap LED modules fail in 12-18 months. Quality modules from Samsung, Osram, or Blueview run 5+ years real lifespan. The difference on a $60 letter is maybe $8. Pay the $8.

Acrylic matters too. Mitsubishi or Degussa UV-resistant acrylic last 5-8 years outdoors. Domestic acrylic yellows in 1-2 years. If you're installing over 2.5 meters, you need 5mm+ thickness or the face will bow.

For stainless steel, 304 gives you 10+ years outdoors. 316 stainless costs 20-30% more but is marine grade for coastal or industrial sites. If you're in Miami Beach, pay for 316. If you're in Ohio, 304 is fine.
